AIKON AUTOMATIC BRONZE
The new AIKON Automatic Bronze utilizes the inherent synergy of the metal with the color brown, exuding a special kind of elegance. With the "Clous de Paris" pattern on the fumé dial and the understated baton indices, the collection's renowned aesthetic characteristics are not only retained but further developed. As is now practically customary, this new series is also limited to 888 pieces.
BEING CREATIVE MEANS TO DARE SOMETHING
In 2016, Maurice Lacroix presented the AIKON as a bold reinterpretation of the Calypso, one of the best-selling models of the 1990s – little knowing at the time that it had created a milestone. Just one year later, another followed: in 2017, Maurice Lacroix was among the first to revive an almost forgotten metal in luxury watchmaking with the AIKON Bronze. Today, the AIKON Automatic Bronze builds on this legacy. The new timepiece captivates with its refined aesthetic combined with a distinctive and resolutely urban touch. The history of metal as the cornerstone of human civilization is just as fascinating as its natural properties. As a direct effect on how, when, where, and by whom the watch is worn, a distinctive patina develops over time – the ultimate form of personalization!
BRONZE CASE
The AIKON Automatic Bronze features a robust 42 mm brushed bronze case, complemented by sandblasted claws on the bezel, subtly adding depth and character. With a case thickness of 11 mm, its wrist presence remains understated, sophisticated, and confident at the same time. The open stainless steel caseback allows a fascinating view of the watch's inner workings. With a water resistance of 20 ATM, the AIKON Automatic Bronze is ready for any adventure in any environment.
IMPRESSIVE DIAL
While the previous 42mm bronze model featured a deep blue quadrillé dial with Arabic numerals at 12, 6, and 9 o'clock, the smoky brown gradient dial of the AIKON Automatic Bronze exudes refinement. The "Clous de Paris" pattern adds dimension and complexity to the watch, while the PVD-coated 4N gold Maurice Lacroix logo at 12 o'clock serves as a gleaming anchor point. An interplay of light and shadow is created as the faceted 4N gold hour, minute, and second hands glide over the 4N gold indices. The use of white Super-LumiNova® inserts on the indices and the hour and minute hands promises optimal legibility, even in low light, and contributes to the watch's distinctive presence, which is based on a blend of tones and textures.
CORE PRECISION
Maurice Lacroix, in close collaboration with movement specialist Sellita, developed the exclusive automatic caliber ML135, based on the legendary SW200. In keeping with the brand's high standards of watchmaking precision, the movement, with its rhodium-plated components, features a magnificent Colimaçonnage sapphire finish and circular perlage graining. The Maurice Lacroix logo adorns the rotor, which is visible through the open caseback. The watch's rhythm is maintained at a constant 28,800 vibrations per hour, ensuring reliable accuracy and a 38-hour power reserve.
SECURED WITH CARE
The integrated brown vintage leather strap with the M emblem in 4N gold underscores the idea of sophisticated urbanity with a certain something extra. At the same time, it represents a natural complement to the bronze case and harmonizes with the watch's evolving patina, while the light gray stitching offers a fine, subtle, yet distinctive contrast. The EasyChange system developed by Maurice Lacroix is a prime example of functionality. It allows the wearer to easily change the strap in a snap and without the need for special tools—as the time, place, or mood requires.
Stephan Waser, CEO of Maurice Lacroix: "In less than a decade, AIKON has become synonymous with urban flair, and the range continues to grow. At the heart of AIKON's continuous evolution is the Maurice Lacroix mindset, which permeates every facet of our brand and company: Be creative! In this spirit, the AIKON Automatic Bronze is further proof of how the fusion of materials, colors, and textures with precision, reliability, and durability can create something new and distinctive."
