The first PONTOS S DIVER was introduced in 2013 – optimized for diving, although few wearers likely exploited the full potential of its specifications. In 2016, Maurice Lacroix launched the AIKON, an "urban watch," which quickly proved to be an outstanding success. Due to limited production capacity, the company decided to satisfy the high demand for the new bestseller and temporarily discontinue production of its dedicated diving watch.
In the years that followed, however, Maurice Lacroix received numerous requests to reintroduce the PONTOS S DIVER. The brand finally complied and presented a new version in May of last year. This generation of the PONTOS S DIVER is slightly smaller than the first one from 2013, making it even more wearable. It also features a number of improvements while retaining the essence of the original model.
The Swiss watch manufacturer is now taking a bold step with a diving watch designed for city dwellers. The new PONTOS S DIVER 2024 is available in two versions: a limited-edition model with a bronze case and a special edition with a steel case and black DLC coating. Thanks to water resistance of up to 300 m (30 ATM), neither model is afraid of the cool water, while the new timepieces are also designed specifically for life on dry land. Version one, limited to 888 pieces, features a 42 mm bronze case and a black dial. The hands and indices are gold-toned and feature Super-LumiNova®, which makes them glow in the dark. While the case exudes a warm feel, it also complements the watch's cool appearance. Combined with the vintage-style brown leather strap and a bronze pin buckle, this version of the PONTOS S DIVER 2024 promises a stylish look for the upcoming summer in the city.
The second version, released as a special edition, exudes the magic of nighttime adventures. Its dial features black, white, and yellow tones that cleverly play with contrasts to enhance the legibility of the displays. The white and yellow accents, combined with the understated 42mm stainless steel case with a black DLC coating, create a dynamic eye-catcher. This watch also features a dial coated with Super-LumiNova®, a luminous material that proves particularly useful in the dim lighting of nightclubs. It comes with a black rubber strap with a sandblasted, DLC-coated pin buckle that matches the case. Both models feature an additional crown at 2 o'clock for operating the internal rotating bezel. This bezel measures elapsed time underwater while diving, but also serves as a practical reminder in other situations. Ideal for everyday use: Thanks to the automatic caliber ML115, the PONTOS S DIVER 2024 does not require manual winding. The watch also features the Easy Strap Exchange system developed by Maurice Lacroix, which allows for easy strap changes in no time and without the need for special tools.
