A color palette of khaki and black might suggest a more understated approach. The new PONTOS Day Date, however, follows a completely different concept. With its interesting combination of contrasting colors, this model stands out, especially in an urban setting. The watch is extremely chic and exceptionally practical. The case has been ergonomically optimized for the wrist and is suitable for both men and women.
The dial of the new PONTOS Day Date is khaki and features a brushed sunray finish, while the 41 mm stainless steel case is wrapped in black DLC—an aesthetic combination that conveys simplicity at first glance. However, the new version of the PONTOS Day Date was created for an urban environment. Its mix of colors and shapes makes it a real eye-catcher.
The black hour and minute hands with Super-LumiNova® coating indicate the time, while the applied trapezoidal indices are more discreet. A sandblasted black inner minute track is located at a lower level. It features a series of clean lines and striking squares, also coated with SLN, ensuring optimal legibility.
On the upper half of the dial is the Maurice Lacroix “M” logo, which towers above the other displays. This too is kept simple and casual in black. In this composition, the dial plays with different textures, finishes, colors and depths. The day of the week, for example, is displayed in an arched opening. It is depicted in white on a black disc – recessed but still clear. This aesthetic is echoed by the highly legible and sophisticated date display in a recessed square opening on the lower half of the dial. The central seconds hand has a protruding tip that floats above the minute divisions and ensures optimized legibility.
Due to its size, this watch is suitable for both men and women. As with other PONTOS models, the case of this watch has been optimized for maximum comfort. The crown is fluted, making it particularly easy to grip and operate.
A transparent caseback provides the wearer with excellent visibility of the automatic caliber ML143. To reinforce Maurice Lacroix's reputation for excellent value, the movement features vertical Geneva stripes, circular graining, and a "Colimaçon" finish, while the rotor features a brushed sunburst finish.
The watch is rounded off by a dark green nylon strap with an M embossing and tone-on-tone stitching, emphasizing the watch's modern, chic look. Thanks to the easy-to-change strap system, the wearer can easily swap out the watch strap without the need for additional tools.
